Kerry Kirkwood - Contemporary Scottish artist based in Edinburgh. As a young artist under the tutorage of Sir Robin Philipson at Edinburgh College of Art, Kirkwood won numerous awards (including first recipient of the Catriona White Drawing Prize). Influences: Chagall, the Scottish colourists, pre-historical drawings and the primitive Lascaux cave paintings. Early commissions include the original cover of “Flood”, Ian Rankin's first novel. After an absence from the Art scene in Scotland, Kirkwood has now returned and is a name to look out for - not only for evocative and inspired images, but also in terms of investment in contemporary art.
